This statewide association was formed in 1953 and includes all 40 municipally owned electric utilities in the state. Its purpose is to render to its members technical, accounting, financial, purchasing, counsel and other services particular to the operation of electric utilities in Massachusetts. MEAM advocates and promotes the highest possible efficiency in system management and provides its members with mutual aid during emergency conditions.
