Working Groups

Work Groups include the Conference Work Group, Survey Work Group, Education Work Group and Energy Services Work Group along with a temporary Website Work Group. Work Groups are tasked with specific planning and research objectives with the goal of benefiting all member utilities.

Conference Work Group

The Conference Work Group oversees planning and operations for the annual MEAM-CES conference and may provide logistical support to the Education & Training Work Group for other training-related events on an as-needed basis. The Work Group is responsible for site selection, conference pricing, speaker travel and accommodations, conference food, event coordination, as well as conference marketing and registration.

Education & Training Work Group

The Education and Training Work Group identifies appropriate educational topics and secures expert speakers to deliver training to MEAM-CES members throughout the year (virtually or in-person). The Work Group is also responsible for providing the slate of topics and speakers for the annual MEAM-CES conference in collaboration with the Conference Work Group.

Customer Survey Work Group

This Work Group's role is to evaluate the pool or core questions used by MEAM member utilities for customer satisfaction surveys conducted by Great Blue Research.

Energy Services Work Group

The Energy Services Work Group identifies current program offerings both locally and nationally and will research paths to implement new programs. The Work Group could create best practice guidelines as well. The Work Group could also create its own resources for other MEAM members who want to start new programs or find ways that members can collaborate or pilot new programs.  Topics could include, but not be limited to, electric vehicles (EVs), air-source heat pumps (ASHPs), beneficiation electrification, battery storage, wind energy, or geothermal heat pumps.

Communications Work Group

The Communications Work Group develops marketing materials that are scalable and designed with the MEAM-CES identity Kit for all MEAM members to utilize.  Marketing materials range from print to digital materials and serve to offer consistent Public Power messaging and brand recognition
